Chaste
This journey through the character of Phaeton is the third part of a trilogy about crashes, exploring
the origins of violence through sound and music, conceived as a metaphor for impact. The entire
project is developed from the premise that Phaeton does not believe in the future — a classic element
of tragedy: the catastrophe is an inevitable prophecy, as if the disaster has already occurred.
Here, Phaeton is a self-destructive figure, a nihilistic kamikaze who steals his father’s BMW to kill
himself and cause the immense chaos foretold by his progenitor. The text is supported by a video
blending traditional Fantasia imagery with 3D-rendered BMW crash sequences.
